Privacy notice

This notice explains what personal data investinginafricans.com collects, why, and what you can do about it. The site has no analytics, no cookies, no local storage and no third-party scripts or fonts.
Who is responsible
The controller is Humanity Solutions, KvK 71110178, Hamerstraat 67D, 2512 CX The Hague, the Netherlands. For any privacy question or request, email connectwithus@humanitysolutions.net.
What we collect through the introduction form
- Whether you are introducing yourself as African talent or as an investor.
- Your full name and email address.
- Your role and location, and what you're looking for.
- Your message (optional).
- The name of this site.
If you email us directly, or if the form falls back to your email app, we receive what you write and your email address.
Please don't include sensitive details such as health, religion, political views, or residence or immigration status. We don't need them to reply.
Why we use it, and on what legal basis
We use your details to reply and, where both sides agree, to make an introduction. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before any agreement (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR); otherwise, our legitimate interest in answering you (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We share your details with another person only after you agree to that specific introduction. We do not use your details for newsletters or marketing, and we do not sell them.
Who processes it for us
- Google (Apps Script and Google Workspace): the form is delivered through a Google Apps Script that runs under Humanity Solutions' own Google account, and submissions and emails arrive in that account.
- Hostinger: hosts this website. Like most web servers, it keeps technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, time and page requested) to run and secure the site.
Transfers outside the EU
Google is a US company, so form data may be processed in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, under which Google LLC is certified, or on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses in Google's data processing terms.
How long we keep it
Introductions are deleted 12 months after our last contact unless they lead to an assignment. In that case we keep what tax and bookkeeping law requires (7 years) and delete the rest 2 years after the assignment ends. Hosting logs are kept by Hostinger for a limited period to run and secure the site.
Your rights
You can ask us for access to your data, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format. Email connectwithus@humanitysolutions.net. We reply within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
